  • Past pieces such as ‘Who You Gonna Call Now?’, ‘Saving The Day’ and ‘Bustin’ Ghosts’ have each become progressively more lairy and chaotic and I love how much you enjoy my Ghostbusters pieces! ‘Kick Its Ass!’ goes even further, a feast for the senses and an image that hits you right in-between the eyes like a face full of ectoplasm!

    Everyone remembers the ballroom scene and the utter chaos that the guys caused as they wrestled Slimer, the wine glugging blob! So, for me, it was either recreating the ballroom moment or inside the library. To be fair, you can do so many more, Dana’s apartment, the rooftop battle etc. I know how my collectors love it when I create a highly detailed room scene, be it ‘Lost in Hollywood’ or ‘Storyteller’ so I have duly obliged! Just look at this piece!

    I keep pushing to keep challenging myself technically, introducing small details that are so difficult to achieve and ones that you may not spot initially but it just adds to the overriding sense of pride, that squeeze in your back cheeks and push out your titties type of pride! Whilst creating what you now see I was completely immersed in the nostalgia from the movies, the soundtrack blaring out and as ever, the courier will always walk in on the most obscure part of it, bollocks to it! 

    I never set out with a definitive list of details to include, that is too restrictive as I find that the more consumed, I become in a piece, the more memories that flood back, whilst your true randomness of thinking shines through, that’s what makes you different from other artists. There is a ridiculous amount to spot, the impact of Slimer and the intensity of the proton streams and the backdrop are enough to bite your head off (man!) but I have really gone for it with this, I genuinely didn’t want this piece to finish. Til’ the next one!

    The intensity of the GB Fans is unrivalled I feel, I really hope you all love this as much as I have loved creating it, feel free to reach out with any questions on what some of the objects mean, especially the sloth, if you get that then you are unrivalled! Welcome inside the ballroom and my mind! I’m not sure what is more chaotic! Take your time to feast on this piece although may I kindly ask to refrain from druuling!   • Every great movie has a great soundtrack doesn’t it! You hear that song, and it catapults you straight back to that scene that you know and love.   

    With Ghostbusters, some of the best songs are the ones that remind you of the scenes that maybe aren’t the so-called big moments, the quirky instrumentals that make you laugh. Whilst I was creating ‘Kick Its Ass!’ that was set in the ballroom, having that playing in the background was just brilliant!

    November 2022 saw me release my first vinyl LP edition ‘WOW That’s What I F*cking Call Memories’ and it went down a treat! That was the sign that there would be plenty more, as everyone has their favourite album, or soundtrack. The format is so carefully considered and thought out that the result is pure nostalgia, without being stuffy. The editions are the perfect accompaniment to supporting print edition from the movie or to simply sit alongside other vinyl editions. It just makes sense!

    Taking a previously sold-out image ‘Saving the Day’ and digitally remastering it into a collectible vinyl LP has turned out so well. All the vibrancy of the movies is captured within the intense hand painted details on the backboard, whilst the album cover is ageing and worn, well played for sure! Slimer features heavily, as he races towards you ready to cover you in his goo, and I couldn’t resist getting our favourite church flattening marshmallow man in there too, what a legend! So, hang this on your wall, grab your stick and put the needle on the record! Carefully!

'Grab Your Stick!' - Proton Wand Statement Piece

  • Now this is for the true obsessive GB fans! Whether you call it a Particle Thrower, Proton Blaster, Proton Gun, Positron Collider, Neutrona Wand, or Proton Wand, the result is the same! This piece looks like it’s been in a real battle and got slimed and fried AF!

    I’m always striving to mix things up and look at ways of introducing my art in new formats and connecting with my collectors. Halloween 2022 saw me release something very different, and bloody dark! My Nightmare on Elm Street Claw plinth was the first piece that I have done that broke away from the traditional print editions and I loved every moment of it, and it has been so well received. It was a signal of my intentions to keep pushing and to deliver pieces that were true to my style but working with movie props to create something unique and special, whilst remaining true to my style of work. The aim was to offer a supporting piece that would complement a traditional print edition.

     

    So, my ‘RETROPLASM’ series has given me the opportunity to build on this and do something much less dark, although I couldn’t resist getting the blow torch out! ‘Grab Your Stick’ has transformed one of the coolest movie props that there has even been and made it, well I guess, funkier, and that’s before you turn the lights off – yep, the resin base glows in the dark whilst the neon paint also comes alive under lairy coloured light. 

    You are free to grab your stick, flick the switches and fire the sucker up! It will slam you right back to your childhood, just don’t cross the streams! Why not? Put simply, coz it’s bad, very bad! If you’re fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing, then maybe this will help. Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.

    Oh, but don’t stress too much, batteries are included!
